I purchased my Savage as a new bike last year,
and my dealer strongly recommended me *not* to
use synthetic oil for the first 5.000 km, in
fact he just used "normal" mineralic oil for
the first inspection. After 6.000 km he advised
me to use SAE 10-40 with synthetic components.
I am using Castrol GPS since then - no sloppy
clutch or other problems.
